“Dear Isaiah” – A Father’s Promise, A Legacy in Motion

Updated: Aug 25

When Tony Steward began writing about his son Isaiah’s journey with sickle cell, he didn’t know it would spark a movement. What began as a book idea—something intimate and personal—has now grown into a powerful documentary titled “Dear Isaiah.”

This film is more than a project. It’s a father’s way of honoring his son’s resilience and making sure that no other child with sickle cell feels invisible.

Set to premiere on September 13, the Dear Isaiah documentary is a love letter and a call to action. It captures Isaiah’s lived experience, the trials and triumphs of his family, and the broader story of what it means to live with a condition that’s so often overlooked and underfunded.

🎬 The Vision:Produced by a member of our creative team, the documentary will blend cinematic interviews, B-roll from real community events, and a rich original score.

🎵 The Soundtrack:Tony not only inspired the film but worked closely on the soundtrack, which includes the emotionally moving theme song, “Because We Care.”

🗣️ The Message:This film doesn't just highlight medical facts—it humanizes them. It shows the emotional toll, the day-to-day decisions, and the unwavering strength of those living with sickle cell and their families.

💬 “We want people to feel seen. To know they’re not alone. And to give them something they can point to and say, ‘That’s my story too.’” – Tony Steward

After the premiere, the film will be made available on streaming platforms so families, educators, and advocates everywhere can continue the conversation—and the healing.
