About Us

Sickle cell anemia affects over 100,000 people in the United States—but the true number is likely much higher. For too long, this disease has remained misunderstood, underfunded, and invisible to the systems that should protect those most vulnerable.

We’re here to change that.

The Isaiah Steward Foundation was created in honor of Isaiah, a young boy whose strength and light continue to inspire a movement. His father, Tony Steward, founded this organization to carry forward Isaiah’s legacy—and to ensure that families like theirs have access to the education, support, and resources they need.

Isaiah’s story reminds us that behind every diagnosis is a real child, a real family, and a community that deserves to be seen and supported.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that education is a form of empowerment, that data can lead to transformation, and that no one should have to navigate this journey alone. Whether you carry the trait, live with the disease, or love someone who does—your story matters.

Your access matters.

Your life matters.

We believe families facing sickle cell deserve more than awareness—they deserve hope, dignity, and a future where they're never forgotten.

Our Mission

Our Mission

The Isaiah Steward Foundation is committed to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by sickle cell anemia, blood disorders, and cancer through education, awareness, accessibility, and testing. Inspired by real conversations with our community, we are creating a national database to connect families to the resources they need most. We also support mentorship, scholarships, and clinical research that pave the way to better health outcomes and brighter futures.
